History

Bo’ness United Junior Football Club was formed in 2019. The Juniors transitioned from Linlithgow Thistle Amateur Football Club following 18 seasons in the U21s, U24s and (for 10 years) in the Lothian & Edinburgh AFA (LEAFA). With a number of league titles and cups won over the period, The Thistle also reached the Quarter Finals of the Scottish Amateur Cup in 2016. Forever a professionally ran and respected club within the Amateurs, when Bo’ness United FC moved into the Pyramid in the East of Scotland Football League, The Thistle opened discussions with their friends at Newtown Park and formed Bo’ness United JFC to bring Junior football back to the town. Reaching agreement as tenants with the Newtown Park Association ensured our home was established as Newtown Park, along with Bo’ness United FC and Bo’ness United Community Football Club.

With the creation of a new Board and investment in the infrastructure of the Club being the initial focus of The Juniors journey, a three year Club Development Strategy underpins the vision and direction of Bo’ness United JFC.

The new management team of Willie Irvine, Tam Beattie, Robert Stewart and Craig Cowan, together with Head of Recruitment, Ian Campbell, joined the club in January 2020, following the departure of the previous manager. Following a governance restructure with the Board, the building of a new squad for Season 2020/21 commenced.
